About Font Pair Studio

Font Pair Studio is a free tool for finding, testing, and exporting Google Font pairings. It exists to solve one specific problem: picking two typefaces that actually work together shouldn't take an hour of trial and error across a dozen browser tabs.

What it does

The studio generates font pairings using established typographic classification rules — serif with sans-serif, display with sans-serif, monospace with sans-serif, and serif with serif — pulled from the full library of open-source families on Google Fonts. You can also search for any specific font by name and pair it against anything else in the library, fine-tune size, line-height, letter-spacing, and weight, preview the result in realistic UI mockups, and export ready-to-use CSS or an HTML link tag in one click.

Why it's free, with no sign-up

There's no account system, no paid tier, and no feature gated behind a login. The only thing stored anywhere is a favorites list and a light/dark theme preference, and both live entirely in your browser's local storage — they're never sent to a server, because this site doesn't have one to send them to. It's a static site: every page, including the individual page for each of the ~1,900 fonts in the library, is generated ahead of time rather than assembled per request.

What it isn't

Font Pair Studio doesn't host or redistribute font files itself — every font is loaded directly from Google Fonts, and every family remains governed by its own open-source license (most commonly the SIL Open Font License). This site is simply a faster way to explore what Google Fonts already makes available for free.
